Ring Sizing
How to determine your correct ring size for a perfect fit
When taking orders for rings, I ask, firstly, for your desired diameter in mm. I find this to be most precise, and I want your Full Spiral ring to fit like it’s always been there! However, you can use any of these methods below to determine your size.
Method 1
Find a ring that you already own and that fits you well, on the same finger that you intend to wear your new ring. Using a ruler with mm increments, carefully measure the inner diameter (the distance from the inside of once edge across to the inside of the other). Always take this measurement twice, using different points on the circle of the ring, to make sure it’s accurate.
This method is also great if you’re buying the ring as a gift, as you can just measure one of her rings without having to ask her size!
Method 2
Cut a thin strip of paper. Measure around your finger where you plan to wear the ring – keep the paper tight against your skin, but don’t squeeze – you want it emulate the way a ring woud fit, which should be snug but not cutting off your circulation! Mark the paper at the point where it meets the other end, then lay it flat against a ruler and write down the measurement in either mm or inches. This will be the inner circumference of your ring. Use this chart (thanks, wikipedia!) to determine your size (I work with American sizes). Again, make sure you take the measurement twice, for accuracy.
Method 3
Go to a jewellery shop and ask them to size your finger. If you use this method, I recommend that you also use method 1 or 2 to double check, as sometimes ring sizing mandrels can vary from jeweller to jeweller.
